Author: Fatih Yılmaz (Journal of Transportation and Logistics)

Abstract: This study explores the contributions of the green-eco port approach to logistics and merchant trade, focusing on practices in the EU and Türkiye. It highlights how eco-friendly technologies in ports reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable transportation. A comparison between EU and Turkish practices identifies areas for improvement in Türkiye. The research finds that key barriers to green port implementation include poor coordination among stakeholders, complex legislation, high enforcement costs, and a lack of economic incentives. The study concludes with recommendations to address these challenges and enhance green port practices in Türkiye.
