Abstract: This study explores sustainability in port operations through a literature review of research on Turkish ports using ULAKBİM, YÖK Thesis, and Google Scholar databases. Findings show that environmental management systems are the most frequently studied topic, while efficient operations receive less attention. The study highlights the importance of economic, social, and environmental sustainability for ports to remain competitive and compliant with international regulations. It emphasizes the need for digitalization and sustainable management approaches and calls for stricter regulations from state authorities on port development and operations to support environmental and social sustainability.
