Abstract: The Poseidon Principles provide a framework for integrating climate considerations into lending decisions in the maritime sector to promote responsible ship financing. They establish a global standard for assessing and disclosing the climate alignment of ship finance portfolios, with the aim of reducing the sector’s greenhouse gas emissions in line with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) targets.
